City Slicker Farms – Oakland

For their annual report, the “City Slicker Farmers” in Oakland needed help in creating an illustration that displays what backyard gardening looks like.

 I visited their site and took some photos of the garden beds. After doing some hand-drawn drafts of the composition I started to realize them with Adobe Illustrator. For the color, I oriented myself on the colors of their previous annual report to make it easier for them to implement it in their corporate design.
Especially the mixture of flat design and little details of the vegetables they liked. Because the illustration about „How backyard gardening works“ did fit so well they asked me to do an additional illustration about their glasshouse.
